ABOUT OUR CHAPTER
Founded in 1952, Fernanda Maria NSDAR chapter currently has sixty two members and two associate members. We range in age from twenty-five to eighty-nine. Eight members reside in distant areas of California and nine are living out-of-state. We stay in touch via newsletters and e-mail. Our meetings generally have approximately 30 members and prospective members in attendance. We look forward to occasional visits from members who are not able to attend on a regular basis.

                                                                   OUR PURPOSE
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 and incorporated by an act of Congress in 1896. It is a non-profit, non political, volunteer women's service organization with approximately 2300 chapters in all 50 states. It is comprised of descendants of individuals who aided in achieving American independence. NSDAR provides opportunities for service in many areas while promoting the ideals of patriotism and love for America. It is open to those women over 18 years of age regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove descent from a Revolutionary Soldier or Patriot. Local NSDAR volunteers are ready to help provide guidance and assistance in tracing your Revolutionary ancestor. The DAR Library in Washington D.C. has one of the largest genealogical resources in the United States and is open to the public. For more detailed information about membership please visit the
